What is L-carnosine?
Although L-carnosine is often referred to as an amino acid, it is actually a peptide, or more precisely a dipeptide (a compound between several amino acids). L-carnosine is formed from the two amino acids L-histidine and beta-alanine and is therefore non-essential for the human organism[1].
