Description
Now Foods Taurine Capsules
When you buy a can of Now Foods Double Strength Taurine capsules, you get 100 vegan taurine capsules. With a dosage of 1000 mg taurine per capsule, you receive high-dose capsules that have been tested under strict quality standards in independent laboratories.
What is taurine and what effect does it have?
Taurine is an aminosulfonic acid that is produced during the breakdown of the amino acids cysteine and methionine. Taurine is not used for protein synthesis, but is mainly found freely in most tissues, particularly throughout the nervous system [1].

In the adult human body, taurine can be found in particular in the muscles, brain, heart, blood and eyes[2].
As taurine is a non-proteinogenic aminosulfonic acid, it is not used for protein synthesis. Taurine is a component of bile acid, or taurocholic acid.
In which foods does taurine occur naturally?
Taurine can not only be produced by the body itself, but can also be absorbed through food. The important amino acid can be found almost exclusively in animal foods such as fish, meat, eggs and milk.
If there is an increased requirement, taurine can also be taken as a supplement to food.
In addition to the small tin of Double Strength Taurine from Now Foods with 100 capsules, you can also find Double Strength Taurine as a 250 capsule tin with the same dosage per capsule in our range.
If you are looking for taurine capsules with a lower dosage, you can also find Taurine from Now Foods with a dosage of 500 mg per capsule at Naturprodukte.store.
