What is ashwagandha?
Ashwagandha is also known as Indian ginseng . The plant belongs to the genus Withania and has the botanical name “withania somnifera “. The plant species belongs to the nightshade family[1].
The root of ashwagandha has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for 3000 years . The reason for this is the large number of withanolides, alkaloids, starch, reducing sugars, hentriacontane, dulcitol and withanicil and flavonoids[1].
The ashwagandha contained in Swanson’s Ashwagandha Extract capsules has been standardized to at least 2.5% withanolides. Withanolides are one of the biologically active components of the plant.

Ingredients per dosage:
- Ashwagandha root extract 900mg
- thereof withanolides 22.5mg
Ingredients: Ashwagandha root extract (Withania somnifera; standardized to at least 2.5% withanolides), coating agent: gelatine (capsule); dextrin, anti-caking agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids; rice bran
USE
Take two (2) capsules per day with plenty of water. Or after consultation with your doctor/health practitioner.
Not suitable for people with stomach and liver disorders.
